Local Artists Invited to Show Work at New Gallery Opening Oct. 7th at Olympic College

Friday, October 7th marks the grand opening of The Gallery at OC. Visual artists from around Kitsap and Mason counties are invited to show their work at this event scheduled during Bremerton’s Art Walk.

The grand opening reception for The Gallery at OC starts 5 p.m. Fri, Oct. 7, 2011 at the Art building A on Olympic College’s Bremerton campus. See a map of the location online at: http://apps.olympic.edu/CampusMap/?b=ART.

 Artists must submit their entries via email to ocartgallery@yahoo.com by midnight, Sept. 9, 2011.  All other forms of submission will not be accepted. Each artist may enter up to three visual art pieces.

The following rules apply to all submissions:

  • File Format:  Submit only “high” quality JPEGs. Images should be 1500 pixels (72ppi) on the longest side.
  • File Naming:  LastnameFirstname01TitleofWork.jpg
  • Naming Example:  PicassoPablo01Rest.jpg
  • Printed Image List: Each item listed should have the image file name, title of artwork, size of original art, and medium. Example:

File:  PicassoPablo01Rest.jpg
Title:  Rest
Size:  26 x 18 inches
Medium: Oil on canvas

For three dimensional pieces, two views will count as one submission. All forms of media are accepted including digital multimedia. There is a strict doorway limit, pieces that cannot fit in the gallery door or within the gallery room (ceiling height) will not be accepted.

 The Gallery at OC strives to be a leader in the presentation of contemporary visual arts in Kitsap County, while also providing the students of Olympic College with training in the essential skills of arts management, display, and marketing. The gallery will encourage a broadened and informed perspective of visual arts throughout the campus and greater community by offering diverse and rigorously curated exhibits in varied media and styles ranging from traditional to experimental. Through thoughtful, stimulating presentation and community engagement, the gallery will support the careers of visual artists, foster creativity and artistic excellence, and educate our viewing audience.
