Olympic College Celebrates Military Community and Center’s Grand Opening

All are welcome to attend a special ceremony in honor of our men and women of the armed forces, and to celebrate the grand opening of Olympic College’s Veteran and Military Support Center.

Military family members, community members, and military officials will speak at the ceremony to pay tribute to our nation’s veterans and current service members. A mouthwatering barbeque lunch will be served immediately following.

The ceremony starts 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the front lawn of the Haselwood Library on OC’s Bremerton campus. Lunch is free for all veterans and military personnel with ID and only $5 for all other guests.

About the Veteran and Military Support Center:

The Veteran and Military Support Center is designed for the men and women of the armed forces as they transition into college life. The center encourages college success by providing a supportive place to study, hang out, socialize, and access college and veterans resources.

The center is equipped with a computer lab and is staffed by a cadre of volunteers, work-study students, and college personnel. Special information sessions, seminars, and other activities will be held at the center.

OC students who are veterans of the military, currently serving in the military, and their families are welcome at the center.

The Veteran and Military Support Center is conveniently located at room 100 of the Engineering building on OC’s Bremerton campus, right across from the Bremer Student Center.
