Olympic College Jazz Festival
Bremerton Patriot, November 6, 2012 – The Olympic College Jazz Classic will be taking place on Saturday, November 17. Jazz ensembles from the region’s middle and high schools will perform at various venues around the Bremerton campus where they will be evaluated by experienced instructors and musicians.
The festival gives participants a chance to listen to their peers, share ideas, and gain valuable skills early in the school year. In the evening, the public is invited to a free concert with student performances by Olympic College and area middle and high schools.
The Olympic College Jazz Classic will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 17, 2012 for students. The evening concert will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Bremer Student Center on OC’s Bremerton campus. The public is invited to attend both the day events and evening concert. Admission is free.
The festival has operated as the Olympic College Jazz Classic since 2005. Prior to coming to Olympic College, it was previously known as the Elliot Bay Jazz Festival and was held at the University of Washington under the direction of long time music educator, Dave Cross.
