The OC library is connected into a nationwide system of academic librarians, allowing students and patrons to get their questions answered any time of day or night. The process is seamless to OC students. They go to the OC library’s web page, type in questions online and a librarian responds virtually. OC librarians also support the program 4 hours a week for other students and patrons around the country. In the state, 34 colleges and universities participate in the system. Of those, OC students ranked #3 for number of questions asked (263) and OC librarians placed #2 in the number of questions answered (218) in the first part of 2010.
Brandman University and Olympic College Partner to Give Students Additional Path to Four-Year Degree
Early Advantage Partnership agreement is another option for Olympic College students to complete their bachelor’s degree
Brandman University, a regionally accredited institution within the Chapman University System, and Olympic College, a community college that educates students across the Olympic Peninsula, today announced the joint signing of an Early Advantage Program (EAP) partnership.
By enrolling in the Early Advantage Program, Olympic College students will be able to map out their education pathway to Brandman. EAP students are open to take Brandman classes as needed to ensure a timely completion of their associate degree at Olympic College. Participants in the program will have access to enhanced cooperative academic and student services from both institutions including Brandman’s advising services, information sessions, technology support, and education plans. The partnership will also allow students to lock in their academic catalog year, giving them the ability to transfer all completed coursework contained in the agreement.
To support the affiliation, Brandman University is also launching a Virtual Transfer Program (VTP) with Olympic College. This comes in the form of a landing page that is available to students who are looking to transfer to complete their four-year degree. It is an interactive initiative that allows an Olympic College student to download a completed education plan and know exactly what courses will transfer to a Brandman degree. To view the VTP partnership page visit www.Brandman.edu/eap/Olympic.
“Brandman University establishes Early Advantage partnership agreements with community colleges like Olympic College to provide students with a clearly defined path to pursue their higher education,” said Gary Brahm, Chancellor of Brandman University.
The EAP is another option for Olympic College students to attain their bachelor’s degree. As part of the agreement, Brandman offers a 10% tuition discount to transfer students and will waive all application fees for Olympic College students participating in the EAP.
The partnership between Olympic College and Brandman University is an outstanding opportunity for students to pursue more options for a bachelor’s degree locally. Brandman has an excellent reputation and Olympic College is excited to be partnering on this new endeavor,” said Dr. David Mitchell, President of Olympic College.
The agreement between Brandman and Olympic College include the following programs: computing technology; business administration; criminal justice; early childhood development; organizational leadership; psychology; social science; and, sociology.
An EAP student can attend classes at any of the five Brandman campuses throughout Washington State or online.
